Dear Parents and Carers
We are thrilled that your child has been given a place to start in our Reception class in September 2020. This will be such an exciting time for them and we are sure they will have fun continuing their learning with us and will enjoy this wonderful next step in their education.
As you are fully aware, this year is not quite operating in the ‘normal’ way. With the current pandemic meaning that schools are largely closed, it is difficult for us to welcome you into our arms with our usual events. As we do not yet know how long school will be closed, it is very tricky for us to put our transition programme into practice. However, please rest assured that as soon as we know anything at all about what will happen, we will share this with you all.
Normally, we would invite you to attend an open evening in early June, where we run through everything that you need to know, feed you with delicious offerings from our school kitchen and introduce you to the classrooms and the staff. This may still take place, but at a later date, or it may become an online meeting in some format or another. I am hoping it can take place in real life because I really don’t relish making a video of myself!
The most important thing for us, is that your children have all had good opportunities to meet us all, to get to know the learning environment and that they feel secure spending time with us at school. We will definitely find ways to achieve this in some way or another.
